Youth violence and knife-crime is a growing concern in the UK. You only have to switch on the TV or pick up the newspaper and the chances are you will hear of the latest victim taken by the hands of someone involved in youth violence or carrying a knife.

There are many reasons why someone might get involved in violent related activities or carry a knife. The most common reason given is for protection, but others include – out of fear, revenge, peer pressure, to gain popularity or respect, to be cool or intimidate others.
