Former Kicster and runner up Young Citizen of the Year 2017 award winner Amy Nicholas joined Wolverhampton Wanderers’ defensive maestro Conor Coady to launch the search for Wolverhampton’s Young Citizen of the Year 2018.
The award organised by Wolverhamptons five Rotary clubs, in parternship with Wolverhampton Council, Express & Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Waitrose and The Way Youth Zone, recognise the contributions young people aged 14 – 19 make in the city.
Amy said “It was an honour to launch the 2018 Young Citizen of the Year Award alongside Conor Coady. The Young Citizen of the Year award is an award to show the great things young people do around Wolverhampton”.
Amy Nicholas was nominated for her dedication and hard work as a member of the Kicsters project in Low Hill. Over the last two years, Amy has gained new skills to become a young community reporter, and gained the confidence to apply to university, where she will be studying a degree in broadcasting.
During her time with Kicsters, she has been an outstanding role model for other young people in the Low Hill community and has given her time to help others learn new skills, build confidence, make new friends and also overcome issues that they have.
